DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH 2024 BUDGET

The 2024 Central Bucks Regional Police Department Budget calls for an increase in Doylestown Borough’s contribution of $272,000, primarily to fund the hiring of two (2) new fulltime police officers. This proposed expansion of the Department from 26 to 28 officers resulted from an internal study in 2020 and an independent study by SafeCity Solutions in 2022. CBRPD’s request and budget are attached.

As a result, the 2024 General Fund Budget includes a three-mill tax increase to fund the increase in police costs. This increase will cost the average Borough homeowner $90.61.

All other Borough tax rates will remain the same as in 2023.

The Doylestown Borough Real Estate Tax continues to be the smallest portion of a Borough homeowner's overall Real Estate Tax bill, accounting for 11.98% of the total taxes paid.

Although water rates will remain among the lowest in the region, the average quarterly household water bill will increase by $6.35 in 2024 as the Borough continues to take steps to address the national PFOS/PFAS contamination crisis.
