In early 2022, Doylestown Borough Council kicked off its efforts to update the Comprehensive Plan. Comprehensive Plans are municipal land use plans that help communities make decisions on priorities such as zoning, transportation improvements, and historic resource planning.

The process was led by the Borough's Planning Commission in consultation with the Bucks County Planning Commission. After more than three years of work—including a widely distributed public survey, two general planning public workshops, topic-specific public workshops with industry specialists, over 30 public meetings, and thousands of volunteer hours—the final draft is now available for public review and comment.

A 45-day public comment period is required before the plan can be adopted by Borough Council. The schedule is as follows:

  • January 28, 2025 – The Borough Planning Commission accepted the final draft and recommended adoption by Borough Council.
  • January 30, 2025 – The public comment period begins, initiating this announcement and distribution to adjacent municipalities, the school district, and the county planning commission.
  • February 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM – PUBLIC MEETING AND PRESENTATION OF THE PLAN AT BOROUGH HALL.
  • March 17, 2025 – The plan will be considered for adoption by Borough Council. The plan can be reviewed at the following link or in person at Doylestown Borough Hall during business hours: https://app.sharebase.com/...
