Decision in Crown Castle Hearings
The Doylestown Borough Zoning Hearing Board received 44 applications for the installation of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) "nodes" along roadways throughout the Borough. Crown Castle, LLC sought variances from specific sections of the Zoning Ordinance and also challenged the validity of the Borough's Wireless Communication Ordinance.

Annual Arts Fest and Bike Race Weekend September 9th & 10th
The Annual Doylestown Arts Festival and the Thompson Bucks County Classic Bike Race will be held on Saturday, September 9, and Sunday, September 10, 2017. Often described as Bucks County's Biggest Weekend these events will result in road closures and detours in Doylestown Borough.

Borough's Environmental Advisory Council Interviews County Department of Health About Mosquito Spraying Program
In September of 2012, the Bucks County Department of Health applied pesticide spray in areas of Doylestown Borough in an effort to kill adult mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus. Due to concerns raised by members of the community, the Borough's Environmental Advisory Council conducted an interview with William Roth, the County's Director of Environmental Health. The interview addressed four main topics: (1) The details of the County's Integrated Pest Management Program, (2) The Borough's participation in the program, (3) Concerns regarding pesticide spray, and (4) Steps residents can take to limit the need for pesticide spray in the future.

Changes to Requirements for Residential Property Sales
Doylestown Borough has adopted an ordinance that affects the sale of owner-occupied residential properties. The new ordinance requires a site inspection and Occupancy Certificate whenever an owner-occupied residential property is sold. The inspection covers basic safety and property maintenance code compliance and is not meant to take the place of a private home inspection. Body-Worn Camera Pilot to Begin
The Body-Camera Collaboration announces the launch of an estimated 90-day trial period for body-worn cameras (BWCs). The pilot program will begin on July 27, 2016. The BWCs will be deployed in Chalfont Borough, Doylestown Borough, New Britain Borough, and Warminster Township.
